Isabelle Jane attended her first ballerina class this past spring. The first few classes were a bit rough. Not in the case that Isabelle was upset because she was away from mommy, but because this was her very first "teaching class". You never really realize that everyday your young child wakes up they are most likely learning something new that day. Whether it is a way of life, a way to behave or a new activity.
Isabelle had never had to learn the concept of following directions from another individual besides her mommy and daddy. And she had definitely never been instructed on how to dance; Isabelle has picked up all of her awesome moves from Andrew and I when we "nance" around the house together.
So after a few weeks of being shy, Isabelle began following directions and participating in class. In fact, after 8 weeks of class Isabelle had a mini-recital. She did wonderfully!!!! I was so proud!!!
Isabelle and her 7 classmates (between the ages of 2 & 3) performed 3 songs in 3 different outfits. I think the outfit changes kept Isabelle pretty excited throughout her entire performance, especially because she was performing in front of so many adults. She had no fear and loved that she was performing for so many people. In fact, I think she only glanced over at me a few times.
Isabelle was wonderful! She followed each of the teachers instructions, although she did check out what move the teacher was performing from time to time to make sure she had it right. Isabelle defiantly acted in a competive manner, trying to be the fastest at each move around the imaginary circle path the girls we're dancing around. It was just darling and I was so proud of how well she did. I'm sure there is quite a bit of technique she could improve on, but she loving following the directions and being up in front of everyone. I was one proud mommy. Way to go, Miss Isabelle Jane! I am so excited to see what the future has in store for you in performing!!!! Mommy and Daddy love you to pieces!!!
Love, Mommy & Daddy
